Everybody has its own dream. The achievement of it is determined by the human’s inner world, chosen methods and society around. Can a genuine dream come true in the society of low morality? The novel «The Great Gatsby» by F.S. Fitzgerald displays a good example to touch upon this intricate question. The analysis of the main characters’ behavior and traits, major symbols, stylistic devices and the historical review of the American society of 1920s gives us a strict negative answer.
